Join the LCE Science Olympiad Team

 

Science Olympiad is an after-school program for 4th - 6th graders that prepares a team of 15 students to compete in the Los Angeles Regional Science Olympiad tournament. The regional tournament is a rigorous academic interscholastic competition requiring knowledge of science facts, concepts processes, skills and science applications. 

Students in the Science Olympiad class will learn concepts and practice the competition events in a fun, hands-on way. The class will be taught by LCE’s new 5th grade teacher Ms. Schour. There will be two sessions of 5 classes each, from these classes a team of 15 students will be chosen for the team.

Class meetings will be on Wednesdays 3pm - 4pm in room 28.


Session 1 Dates: Sept 19, 26, Oct 3, 10, and 17 - Session is full
Session 2 Dates: Oct 24, 31 and Nov 7, 14 and 28 - Session is full

Cost: $75 per session

Congratulations to LCE's 2017 Science Olympiad Team!

 

 

The LCE Science Olympiad team earned a Gold medal for their efforts at the Los Angeles Science Olympiad Regional Competition on Saturday, March 4th at Occidental College.

 

The team was comprised of 15 students in 4th - 6th grades. 

 

4th grade: Aikam S., Braden D., Gayane K.

5th grade: Ben R., Cami D., Joey M., Matthew P., Preston L., Ryan G., and Tanishka D. 

6th grade: Bryce K., Elisa B., Kaitlyn B., Kerianne B., Winston C.

 

This is the 3rd year in a row LCE has scored first among the top schools in the area. An enormous THANK YOU to all of our parent coaches!
